More than just a darker window
Window tinting is one of the cheapest changes you can make to a car, and one of the few you notice every single day. A quality film blocks heat and UV, adds privacy and sharpens the look, and most cars are finished in an afternoon.
- Blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays
- Keeps your cabin cooler in summer
- Adds privacy and helps deter theft
- Cuts glare for more comfortable driving
- Protects your interior from fading
We fit premium Global Window Films in two options: a great-value non-metalised film, and our top ceramic film for the best heat rejection and clarity. Both are covered by our lifetime warranty. Here's how they compare.

Both films give you privacy, UV protection and glare reduction. Ceramic goes further, rejecting far more heat and holding its finish for years. Here's how they stack up.
If budget comes first, non-metalised film does a great job. But for the coolest cabin, the clearest finish and the longest life, ceramic is the one we recommend.
How dark do you want to go?
Use the picker below to see each shade on a car's rear windows, from clear factory glass through to full privacy. The percentage is the VLT, or visible light transmission: how much light the film lets through. The lower the number, the darker the tint, so 5% is limo black and 70% is barely there.
No tint · factory glass
Front windows stay road-legal. Only the rear glass changes.
Non-metalised film comes in 9 shades, from 5% to 70%. Ceramic film comes in 6 shades, from 5% to 80%. The lightest is subtle enough for legal front-side use on some glass.
UK window tint law
In the UK, cars first used after 1 April 1985 must let at least 75% of light through the windscreen and 70% through the front side windows. The darker shades are for the rear side windows and rear screen, which have no legal limit. We'll always keep your car road-legal and advise what's allowed for your vehicle.
Pricing by vehicle
Prices are for the rear windows and hold for most cars. Front driver and passenger windows are always kept road-legal. Vans and commercial vehicles are priced on request.

How long it takes
Most jobs take 2–3 hours: around 1–2 hours for a 3-door hatchback, 2–3 for a small or medium car, and 3–4 for an SUV or larger vehicle. The front driver and passenger windows on their own take about an hour. Times vary with the vehicle, glass shape, access and whether any old film needs removing.

Finish it with a sunstrip
A sunstrip is a tinted band fitted across the top of the windscreen. It cuts low, dazzling sun that visors don't reach, takes the edge off glare on long drives, and gives the front of the car a cleaner, finished look.
Fitted road-legally in the shade of your choice, and cut to suit your car. Added to any tint booking, or done on its own.
